Putting Schlierbach on the world map
Widmann has always been a global player, long before "globalisation" became a fashionable term. For many years, the company has been building machines for customers in countries from Japan to Mexico, from Norway to South Africa.
The world-wide success of a company, based in the small town of Schlierbach would not have been possible without understanding of other markets and the important overseas contacts – for example, all negotiations and project meetings with international business partners are conducted in English.
In fact Widmann´s global reputation is mainly on the ability to communicate and the ability to listen – because the key to delivering reliable, custom-made solutions is insight into specific needs and goals. Or, as a member of our strategic-planning team put it: "We evaluate new technologies from around the world. We select whatever is promising and practical and we then modify it to suit our customer´s purposes. And if we can´t find the technology required, we create it ourselves." And very often the final solution is faster and more efficient than conventional technology. After all, German engineering is known for its excellence and Widmann intends to make sure it stays that way.
